Who we are

The Golden Thread Birth Collective was founded by Jaya and Kiona, two BIPOC birth doulas united by a shared vision: to create a birth support practice that centers the experiences and needs of birthing people of color while welcoming all families from every background and walk of life.

We recognize that birth outcomes are deeply affected by systemic inequities, and we are committed to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that honors each person's unique story and needs. Our practice is rooted in the understanding that when we center those who have been historically marginalized in maternal healthcare, we create a model of care that benefits everyone.

Together, we weave our distinct expertise and lived experience into comprehensive support that meets each birthing family exactly where they are. At The Golden Thread, we believe every birth story deserves to be honored, every voice deserves to be heard, and every family deserves to feel supported, safe, and empowered. We are here to walk alongside you—guiding the thread from pregnancy to parenthood.

We serve the following areas in the Puget Sound region: South King County, Eastside (up to Redmond), South Seattle, West Seattle, Tacoma, and Northern Pierce County.
